The problem (Why)

• Contributing to the bitcoin space is like “living life on hard mode”. On the other hand, in the ‘crypto’ ecosystem get’s a lot of traction because of all the grants that exist to funnel developers. There is a lot less of that in the bitcoin space.
• Creators, be they artists, educators or builders - often do so with minimal support and no added benefits.
• There is bitcoin capital that is locked up by bitcoin whales, that could be released into productive endeavours in the bitcoin ecosystem.
• There is a lack of celebration of the humble, hard working and opsen source creatives that are adding immense value to the bitcoin ecosystem.

Origin Story

• Geyser Grants was born by the Geyser team’s and Brad Mill’s idea that we could support the development of the bitcoin ecosystem by giving out Grants directly to the community.
• Other cryptocurrencies use Grants successfully to call developers and creators in their ecosystem
